Chemical Attraction

What happens when we fall in love?
You might think it is his sparkling personality and good looks that make you want to spend every second of the day with him. But actually, falling in love sends blood to the pleasure centers of our brain, triggering a chemical reaction that makes him irresistible. Dopamine and adrenaline are responsible for the happiness, sleepless nights and even the thumping of your heart that goes with love. And they are why you can’t concentrate on anything but him.
The bad news is that the part of our brain that lights up when we’re head over heels is the same bit responsible for drug addiction and OCD. Luckily, as we get used to all the love chemicals swirling around our bodies, we move on to the attachment phase of the relationship, which will hopefully last a lot longer.
