Do you think of a relationship questionnaire as self-help dross that’s less informative than a fortune cookie? Wrong. Although it’s suffered by association with a teen-mag approach to psychology, a few can actually offer genuine insights.
People tend to fall in love with somebody form the same socio-economic background, same levels of intelligence and looks, same religious values. But you can walk into a room where everybody is from your background and you don’t fall in love with all of them. There are a lot of reasons why you fall in love with one person rather than other. Personality styles cound be one important aspect associated with love choices.
There are four broad personality styles associated with different chemical systems in the brain: the Explorer, the Builder, the Negotiator and the Director. The Explorer, who is risk-taking and impulsive, is linked to heightened levels of dopamine, while a Builder, who is cautious and loyal, shows traits associated with serotonin activity. A Negotiator, who is imaginative and compassionate, has traits connected with oestrogen and a Director, who is analytical and decisive, is likely to have raised levels of testosterone.
Explorers want someone who goes adventuring with them, not just jumping off mountains, but also trying new restaurant. There are a lot of ways to explore, and they are looking for somebody to share it with. As a result, the Explorers primarily go for Explorers, dramatically more than any other type.
The builders are looking for a help mate, somebody who can help build their social networks with them, hel them build home and family. So the Builders go for Builders
The director wants a mind mate, someone they can share ideas with. And the Negotiator wants the soulmate, who want to know how you feel and the intricacies of what you meant by what you just said. They both want their partner to ask them how they’re doing. So, the Director goes for the Negotiator and Negotiator goes for the Director. It doesn’t matter whether you are male or female.
